10 count bag of our own saved mix of corms from the 2022 ranunculus season.


Ranunculus is a gorgeous late winter/early spring flower that can be a bit tricky to grow but their beauty is so worth it if you're willing to put in the extra work to grow them.


Things that the need:

  • Full Sun
  • Well draining, fertile soil
  • winter protection/leaf mulch/row cover during cold temperatues less than 32 degrees.


Instructions-

  1. You'll open up your bag and think - 'what are these ugly lil nuggets?! they can't possibly produce those ruffly long lasting blooms that I so adore!'
  2. Start the pre-sprout treatment: soak in aerated water (in a bucket/bowl with a drippy faucet on top) for 3-4 hours. Next: place them in a tray or bowl with moist perlite or potting soil (moist but not wet). Set that bowl/tray somewhere cool & dark (50 degrees-ish like a basement or garage or closet). You want them to sprout roots. Pre-sprouting takes 7-14 days.
  3. Time to plant them! Plant 1 1/2'' deep in good soil in full sun, spaced 8" apart.
  4. Water them (but not so much that they'll rot) & keep them from freezing (use a frost cloth or light sheet when there is a deep freeze predicted.)
  5. When buds evetually form in the late winter/spring, be sure to protect the buds from freezing.
  6. Cut your flowers & enjoy that you succeeded in growing ranunculus!
