Flower Farm Hand Position Description
Year-round Part-time Position (12-20 hours over 3-5 days/week) starting mid-late February – schedule is fairly flexible, but we typically need the most help during these times.
February- March: afternoons when the weather is cold
April-December: early mornings till early afternoon

This job is not for everyone – it is beautiful & rewarding but VERY physically demanding work – so after the start date, we have a two-week trial period (paid) to determine if it’s a good fit. Farming is skilled labor and we value our team members immensely.
- Punctual and ready to work at agreed upon start time
- Prepared with appropriate clothing for all weather conditions (we work in rain, sun, cold, hot, etc) & closed toe shoes always.
- Brings water, snack, lunch, as needed
- Works until finished or until shift ends (as discussed and agreed upon)
- Can talk and keep working efficiently at the same time
- Professional and pleasant working attitude
- Works as a team and solo to get tasks completed as efficiently and effectively as possible
- Limits cell phone usage and other distractions
- Harvesting
- Cleaning buckets
- Prepping flowers/vegetables/herbs
- Bunching
- Bouquet & Floral Design
- Keeping excellent quality control
- Drying
- Making deliveries
- Occasionally manage our farmers market booth
- Watering
- Planting
- Weeding
- Bed preparation
- Seeding/Propagating/Potting up
- Mulching
- General landscaping
- Trellising
- Pruning
- Other farm-related tasks
- Treats their body with care to avoid injury
- Treats tools, equipment & products with care
- Treats other team members with care
- Is an open communicator to voice ideas, needs, and concerns with the farm owner
